When technologies are combined, you can benefit from the strengths of each. This is the advantage of being imaged by one of our hybrid systems – SPECT/CT or PET/CT.
SPECT (single proton emission tomography) and PET (positron emission tomography) are both nuclear medicine-based imaging systems. They help discover changes in your body’s biological or ‘molecular’ structure. CT (computed tomography) is a common technology used to provide anatomical images of your internal organs.
Combining biological and anatomical information can help physicians diagnose and treat disease earlier because many times the biological processes associated with disease are already happening in our bodies before they are visible through changes in anatomy.
In this issue we explore the value of hybrid systems.
